About Us
Luen Fook Co., a renowned name in traditional medicine, was founded in Singapore in 1935 by Mr. Tham Kwong Soon, a pioneering entrepreneur who immigrated to the country in search of better opportunities.
Driven by his entrepreneurial spirit and a commitment to quality, Mr. Tham established Luen Fook Co. to trade in Chinese medicine and herbs. In the early 1940s, a pivotal moment arose when a close friend and British pharmacist shared a cough remedy formula with Mr. Tham.
Intrigued by the potential, Mr. Tham meticulously researched and refined the formula, ensuring its efficacy and safety. This led to the creation of the iconic African Sea-Coconut Brand cough mixture, initially produced from a small shophouse in Upper Nankin Street, Singapore.
The mixture quickly gained popularity for its effectiveness, leading to increased demand and the expansion of Luen Fook Co.’s production and warehousing facilities across Singapore and Malaysia.
Building on this success, Luen Fook Co. launched the African Sea-Coconut Brand Lozenges in 2007, which have since garnered significant popularity in Asia and are experiencing growing demand globally.
